Year 6 Caldecotte Trip

Here are just a few pictures from the Year 6 adventures today at Caldecotte. I'm sure you can see what a great time they've all had! What a lovely way for them to end the year before they move onto the next stage of their educational journey.

Sports Day 2021

We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to take part in Sports Day this year as part of National Sport week 2021 - Together again. Even though we sadly couldn't share the day with Parents and Carers, much fun was had by all.

Elephant Day

We had our fundraising day raising money for Keech Hospice Care as part of the Big Trunk Trial for our school elephant Larky. The children took part in lots of elephant related activities including dressing up as an animal and an elephant stomp. All of the children and staff thoroughly enjoyed elephant day and thanks to your donations we raised a total of £1052 to support Keech Hospice Care.

Numeracy Day

It was National Numeracy day and here at Lark Rise there was a wide array of learning to celebrate how numbers are all around us from baking, scavenger hunts, dance to calculating items on a menu. Great work everyone!

What's Your Superpower Week

Science Week

During Science Week the children took part in a variety of science related activities. The children in Reception had fun experimenting to see if they could make a fizzy liquid. Key Stage One enjoyed designing their own robo-bug and carried out an investigation to see which liquids could clean a dirty penny. Some classes took part in online workshops such as Lambing Live and Vet School Live. Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2 created their own models of future homes and vehicles. The children also took part in a create your own insect competition.

Bikeability

Some of our Year 5 children completed their Bikeability training, providing them with the knowledge and skills to ride safely on the road.

Big Trunk Trail

We had a special visit from Peanut the elephant to get the children excited about starting our charity work with Keech Hospice Care.

Reindeer Visit

We had a surprise visit from some reindeer to start the run up to Christmas!

 Santa Dash

The whole school really enjoyed taking part in the Santa Dash to see how many laps of the playground they could complete.
