At Lark Rise Academy, we are passionate about the education, well-being and safety of children and ensuring that we achieve the very best outcomes in all aspects of the school’s provision.
In 2020-2021, we will work tirelessly to ensure that we overcome the impact the Coronavirus pandemic has had on our children, their families and our school, whilst ensuring all aspects of our school remain outstanding. We are extremely ambitious and we want to achieve the absolute best for the children in our care; we want to reignite the children’s appetite for learning whilst ensuring they feel safe, secure and happy in the school environment.
We are clear that the children in our school deserve to have access to an inspiring and engaging curriculum, which offers a full coverage of the National Curriculum and is enriched further with exciting and motivational learning opportunities that take place both in the classroom and beyond, including if children need to learn remotely. We recognise that children’s learning will have been affected in different ways by the pandemic; as a result, we will offer a recovery curriculum whilst tailoring the children’s learning to meet their needs by plugging gaps or offering additional challenge where appropriate. Also, the parents and carers of our children were highly supportive during the school’s partial closure and we will foster this positive relationship further in order that they can continue to support their children’s learning going forward. We will strive for the curriculum to be delivered using techniques and approaches that are proven to have the greatest impact so that children can understand, retain and recall their learning.
This, coupled with positive learning behaviours and a relentless focus on children’s social, emotional and mental health needs, is what we believe will help each and every one of our children reach their full potential in the current stage of their educational journey and beyond as we nurture them (with the help of external professionals where appropriate) and help them to grow into confident, reliable, resilient, responsible and independent thinkers and learners who have the skills they need to be a success in the future.
In our ever-changing school context, we are highly committed to being responsive to the needs of the children in our care and we will continue to work tirelessly in order to offer an environment that is accepting of every individual’s similarities and differences…where these are understood and celebrated…and, ultimately, where every child can flourish.
At Lark Rise, we also understand the value of every member of our staff and we are committed to ensuring that they are all fully equipped with the skills, knowledge, expertise and confidence needed to achieve all that has been stated above, particularly in the current climate in relation to the Coronavirus pandemic. We will seek help, guidance and support from our Trust colleagues and beyond whenever it is needed, whilst working together internally to problem solve and innovate. We have high expectations of every child in our school…and this is mirrored in the expectations that we have of ourselves.
In 2020-2021, we will continue to be dedicated to creating a nurturing and motivational school environment for all. This will ensure we make a positive impact and contribution to our children, families, Trust and local community. Working together, we will be the best school we can possibly be!
At Lark Rise we will:
